Katie Markisz

Katie’s love of horses began when she was seven years old in New York City. At age 13 she became a working student, assisting with beginner riding lessons and helping to run summer riding camps until shortly after she began teaching riding lessons and developing lesson and training programs of her own. She has many years of experience caring for and training horses. Katie earned her degree in Animal Science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where she developed and taught an English riding course, giving students an opportunity to learn and experience the different disciplines of English riding. Katie teaches private and group lessons to riders of all ages and levels, and is a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and provides therapeutic riding lessons and equine-assisted activities.
